"Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore, do not be anxious, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you."
-Matthew 6:28-33

"It's always like springtime with You, making all things new
Your light is breaking through the dark
This love it is sweeter than wine Bringing joy, bringing life
Your hope is rising like the dawn
This is what you do, this is what you do You make me come alive
You make me come alive
You make me come alive
It's like I'm living for the first time
Finally living for the first time"

This is the view from my dorm room on a beautiful Colorado fall morning.  I love this picture because the moon was so bright and perfect.  This really set off my morning to a good start and reminded me of the beauty and artistry of our Creator.  What a great job He did with this morning's painting!

My nice niece. She is so adorable and every time I ask if I can take a picture of her, she'll smile and yell "CHAAEEESSEE!!!" and strike a very cute pose. I just love this picture and the mountains and the old-time feel. And the cute little blonde girl is ok, too. ;)

There's just something about mountain sunsets that take my breath away...  God is the inventor and master of creativity.  I'm continuously in awe of his splendor displayed in his creation.  Not only in a beautiful sunset, but also in us.  Praise God for his creativity today! :)

“'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me."
-2 Corinthians 12:9

This verse has hit me in a new and powerful way today... Nothing really personal, I just realized how powerful this is and how big that makes God. The fact that God not only works through our weaknesses and struggles, but that He uses them for GOOD is mind-blowing. I mean really... Think that one through for a second. What is your weakness? Don't say chocolate... Nice try. :) I mean really. The thing that you just can't seem to get a hold on, something you can't control. Whatever it is, God can and does turn that weakness into strength. His strength to move mountains and move hearts. I'd say that is pretty neat, and definitely something worth rejoicing over. :)

My family and I visited Kansas during spring break to visit family and there's a SWEET old farm that has the coolest old buildings and rusty cars and things that are falling apart–the photographer's dream. :) My sister and I had a lot of fun taking pictures and running from snakes on this trip. It was so fun!

I like taking pictures of dead trees.  :)
These pictures were taken on hikes through 2 of Evergreen's beautiful parks.
Some have laughed at me for taking pictures of dead trees instead of mountains, but the cool thing about these trees is that they don't stay dead.  They go through the cold Colorado snow in the dead of winter (easier said than done...)  and still regenerate in the spring!  But what's even cooler is that Jesus Christ died to bring our souls out of our dead and dormant state into the warn thaw of spring and eternal life.  But thankfully, our regeneration is not seasonal.  It's eternal if we accept His gracious gift.  Praise God!
1 Peter 1:23-
"... you have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God..."

Both of these pictures were taken the same day.  It has been a family tradition the past couple of summers to wake up early, drive to the top of Mount Evans and watch the sunrise from the very top.  (With hot chocolate, of course!)  After the sun had successfully risen, we would drive back down and get breakfast.  And then take naps for the rest of the day.  :)

This blog...

I have decided to try out this blogging stuff.  I always thought it'd be fun to do, and always kind of wanted to give it a shot, but I'm not really a writer.  Journaling has never been a strength of mine.  Due to my lack of creative writing, I figured I would never blog.  However, I love taking and editing pictures, and get really excited when I take or edit a good picture.  (Like really.  I usually end up talking incessantly about how excited I am and run and show everyone who will look.)  But I always ended up sad because after my editing and excitement, I don't know what to do with the pictures.  UNTIL!!!!  The day my sister suggested a photography blog.  So here goes.  To all those reading this or looking at the pictures, thanks!  I hope you enjoy it and feel some of the joy that I feel when taking and editing these pictures.  :)
This picture was taken in an alley in Honduras.  My family went to Honduras when I was in 6th grade to visit my sister who was studying abroad for a semester.  Honduras is such a beautiful country with many a photo op!
